THE LIONS --- WHAT WE DO ...for 90 years Lions have been recognized throughout the world for their services to the blind and visually impaired.

In 1925 Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become the Knights of the Blind.

Bringing rays of light to the darkness of countless people around the world, Lions have established the majority of eye banks worldwide, funded groundbreaking research on leading causes of blindness, organized eyeglass recycling efforts and helped hundreds of thousands of visually impaired people develop the skills to live productive lives.

Forty-five million people are blind, yet 80% of all blindness is preventable or reversible.

Anyone in need of eye exams and/or glasses, contact the Park Forest Village Health Department for application.

Hearing aids and exams are also available by filling out an application at the Park Forest Health Department

Anyone interested in serving the community (including Park Forest, Richton Park, Matteson and University Park), email acunique2@yahoo.com
